Panic Stations 'Flinch'

Produced to maintain a fundamental grittiness, with forthright literary referencing. We like to collage phrases, headlines and quotes in our work… anything is within limits. Funny lyrics set in sad melodies. 'Flinch’ is a record that also captures our initial sound, charting the early moments in our friendship with a focus on personal connection.

The band’s material draws references from the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Bodega, CAN, Wire, Guided By Voices - and the debut album sees the band forge a sound building outwardly on this template. From the washy aggression of ‘Dust Clouds’ to the downbeat slickness of ‘Sertraline’, to the barbed sharpness of ‘Paperback’, Panic Stations attempt to push the boundaries of their songwriting with the primitive limitation of a rhythm section.
